Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in petrochemicals to join our client’s operational team in Bloemfontein. You will manage and optimize complex petrochemical processes to ensure safe, efficient production and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring process variables, troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with maintenance and operations to minimise downtime and support PHAs and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in petrochemicals.
• Proficiency in process control systems and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in petrochemical environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of petrochemical production units, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to schedules.
• Monitor process variables, analyze performance data, and implement adjustments to maximise efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot operational problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements specific to petrochemical operations.
• Participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and recommend safety improvements.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop and execute effective preventative maintenance programs.
