Placements24 is seeking a results-oriented Chemical Engineer to manage and optimize plant processes in Bloemfontein. You will lead troubleshooting, drive continuous improvement and provide technical leadership to the operations team.

The role requires a degree in Chemical Engineering with 6+ years in chemical plant operations, experience with PSM and safety compliance, and strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. On-site role with competitive package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical plant operations.
Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles.
Proven track record in process troubleshooting and optimization.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Diagnose and resolve process deviations, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing process yield, reducing operating costs, and improving safety performance.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide technical training to plant personnel.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and process integrity.
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
