Job summary

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented People Intern to join our team at our Cape Town DC. This 18-month contract position offers exposure to HR operations, recruitment support, onboarding, and employee engagement in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

You will maintain records, assist with HR queries, coordinate training, and provide cross-functional HR support as part of a dynamic team at Takealot Group.

Qualifications

• N6 Certificate in Human Resource Management.
• MS Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Understanding of socioeconomic and public policy issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, reports and compliance documentation.
• Provide first-line support to employees on HR queries, including leave, payslips, policies and benefits.
• Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including candidate administration and new-starter documentation.
• Coordinate employee engagement activities, including wellness days, recognition events and team-building initiatives.
• Provide administrative support for training coordination, including scheduling, attendance and training records.
• Provide cross-functional HR support and assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks and projects.
