Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a People Business Partner with experience in aligning human resources strategies with commercial and operational objectives. This includes driving a high-performance culture, talent management, employee relations, and organizational design. The People Business Partner will work closely with various departments to develop people strategies and ensure that the organization is fully compliant with South African labor legislation.

Min Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist.
• In-depth, practical knowledge of South African labor law (LRA, BCEA, EEA, BB-BEE) and dispute resolution.
• Strong business acumen, analytical capability, and proficiency in HRIS platforms and Excel.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Strategic Business Partnering and Advisory - Partner with line managers and executive leadership to translate business goals into actionable people strategies.
• Provide coaching and trusted advisory on leadership capability, team structure, change management, and workforce planning.
• Employee Relations and Compliance - Ensure full compliance with South African labor legislation and manage complex employee relations matters including disciplinary hearings and grievances.
• Manage low-performance and sick-leave trends constructively while mitigating organizational risk.
• Talent Management, Recruitment and Retention - Oversee end-to-end recruitment for critical and mid-to-senior level roles and drive onboarding and succession planning.
• Analyze staff turnover metrics, conduct exit interviews, and implement targeted retention strategies.
• Performance and Culture Enablement - Facilitate regular performance review cycles, goal-setting (KPI/OKR alignment), and coaching sessions for managers.
• Champion employee engagement initiatives, internal communication channels, and wellness programs to foster a high-morale workplace culture.
• Reporting and Analytics - Track and report on key HR metrics such as headcount costs, absenteeism, turnover, and engagement scores.
