Job summary

JAM Clothing SA in Durban seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our Retail Payroll Team. The role covers end-to-end weekly payroll processing, data capture, and maintaining payroll records in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will handle time and attendance data, use SAGE 300, and collaborate with store teams to resolve payroll queries. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate; tertiary qualification advantageous.
• 1–2 years experience in data capturing and administration.
• Payroll knowledge in Time and Attendance systems and SAGE 300.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel – intermediate level).
• Strong administration skills and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of the weekly payroll.
• Prepare and process weekly payroll.
• Capture overtime on monthly basis and assist with queries.
• Extract relevant reports on weekly and monthly payroll.
• Importing and exporting data on weekly/monthly payroll.
• Reconcile and process leave on the monthly payroll.
• General administration and filing of payroll records.
• Draw up contracts for 27-hour & 45-hour casuals for allocated stores.
• Leave approval and reconciliation.
• Maintenance and filing of personnel files.
• Administration of the out-service and maternity leave process.
• Interaction with relevant departments affecting the weekly payroll.
• System review and control.
• Reconcile leave against Time & Attendance.
