Our client provides payroll services and solutions to its customers, supporting the processing and administration of payroll requirements.
The business works directly with clients and employees, handling payroll processing, statutory submissions, pension contributions and payroll-related queries.
THE ROLE: PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
The Payroll Administrator will support the Payroll Department with the payroll processing functions required to ensure the smooth running of client payrolls.
The role covers end-to-end monthly payroll processing, statutory calculations and submissions, pension administration, payroll correspondence, client and employee queries, and year-end processing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process monthly payrolls end-to-end.
- Calculate SML, SSP, SPP and SHPP.
- Calculate Auto-Enrolment pension contributions.
- Set up Attachment of Earnings orders.
- Send CSV files to clients to make payments where applicable.
- Send all payroll correspondence by email or post.
- Send FPS and EPS submissions.
- Deal with client and employee queries.
- Deal with HMRC queries.
- Upload Auto-Enrolment contributions to various pension providers each month.
- Check and sign off other team members’ payrolls before sending them to clients.
- Scan and save all payroll correspondence to payroll files.
- Process year-end.
- Perform any other duties that might reasonably be required by the business.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those relating to equality of opportunity, anti-discriminatory practice, confidentiality, and health and safety.
- Report all incidents and concerns, no matter how small.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Knowledge of customer-management systems for information recording – Essential.
- Knowledge of Sage payroll systems – Essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including email and calendars, Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Essential.
- Understanding of the value of customer service in developing and retaining business – Essential.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships – Essential.
- Ability to communicate clearly, openly and effectively, with authority to both customers and colleagues – Essential.
- Clear, accurate and appropriate written communication using concise business English – Essential.
