Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking an experienced payments professional in Cape Town to review and authorise supplier, operational and ad hoc payments. You will verify banking details, amounts and supporting documentation and ensure payments comply with internal controls.

Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and finance systems are essential. Experience in high-volume payment environments, retail or FMCG, will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 35 years experience in payments, banking, creditors or finance operations.

Investigate payment discrepancies, rejections, reversals and unmatched transactions

Identify and escalation unusual or high-risk transactions

Support month-end payment cut-offs and accrual processes

Assist with improving payment processes, controls and workflows

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 35 years experience in payments, banking, creditors or finance operations
• Experience with banking platforms and payment authorisation controls
• Strong understanding of financial controls and payment governance
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Experience within retail, FMCG, shared services or high-volume payment environments would be advantageous

Qualification:

• Diploma or Certificate in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping or a related field.
