Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with 6 months formal chef training.
• At least 3 years as a Demi Chef in a 4- or 5-star environment.
• Computer literacy in MS Office; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation & presentation to 5-star standards.
• Assist with roll-out of potential revenue streams and business opportunities.
• Assist Sous Chef with menu writing and trend research.
• Par stock, costing, rotation and stock take.
• Supervision, motivation, training & performance management of staff.
• Ensure operating equipment is well maintained.
• Adherence to health & safety, cleanliness, recycling and waste management.
