Job summary

Emeris in Cape Town is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer for the Experience Design 1A module. You will prepare, deliver and assess content, helping students achieve learning outcomes within contracted hours.

Ideal candidates hold an NQF 8 in Information/Graphic/Multimedia Design with a strong portfolio and at least 2 years of digital design experience, ready to engage in professional development and campus teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• NQF8 or higher in Information Design, Digital Design, or Multimedia Design.
• Diverse portfolio showing visual design skills.
• Ability to engage conceptually with basic to intermediate design challenges.
• At least 2 years industry experience as a digital designer.

Emeris – City, Cape Town has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturerin the following module:

Semester 1

• Experience Design 1A

Key Performance Areas:

Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Job Purpose:

Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal:

NQF 8 or higher qualification in Information Design, Digital Design, or Multimedia Design. A solid foundation in the fundamental elements and formal principles of Visual design are key. The candidate must have a diverse portfolio detailing her/his visual design skills and an ability to engage conceptually with basic to intermediate design challenges.

Alternatively:

NQF 8 or higher qualification in Graphic Design or Communication Design with at least 2 years industry experience as a digital designer. A solid foundation in the fundamental elements and formal principles of Visual design are key. The candidate must have a diverse portfolio detailing her/his visual design skills and an ability to engage conceptually with basic to intermediate design challenges.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

At least 2 years industry experience as a digital designer in a design studio or advertising agency. A solid foundation in the fundamental elements and formal principles of Visual design are key. The candidate is required to have a layered portfolio detailing her/his ability to engage with basic to intermediate design challenges.
