Job summary

Emeris Sandton Vega School Campus is seeking a Lecturer to deliver the module Communication Design 1A, preparing lectures from provided content and supplementing with professional expertise.

The role requires experience in tertiary teaching, bridging theory and practice, and marking assessments to support student success. This Independent Contractor position is based at the Sandton campus.

Qualifications

• BA Honours (HEQSF 8) in Graphic Design / Visual Communication / Information Design.
• Relevant experience lecturing at tertiary level with industry experience.
• Ability to bridge academic theory and professional practice using current industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for lectures based on provided content.
• Supplement content with own expertise.
• Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours.
• Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed.
• Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success.
• Provide content feedback.
• Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Emeris Sandton Vega School Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer in the following module:

• Communication Design 1A

• Supplement content with own expertise.
• Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours.
• Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Ideal: BA Honours (HEQSF 8) in: Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/ Information Design

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Relevant experience in lecturing or facilitating learning at tertiary level, complemented by practical industry experience.
• Candidates should demonstrate the ability to bridge academic theory and professional practice, incorporating current industry trends, applied knowledge, and real-world examples into teaching, learning, and assessment.
