The South African Breweries (SAB) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to drive continuous improvement in plant reliability through TPM development and maintenance planning. The role focuses on maintenance scheduling, systems management, and planning, with a strong emphasis on data integrity and problem solving across production and engineering teams.

You will lead scheduled maintenance, participate in system changes, and generate SAP reports for stakeholders while ensuring accurate data capture

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent and trade tested.
• 3 to 5 years production engineering experience with 3 years in supervisory level.
• Knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant will be an advantage.
• PC literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications).

Responsabilités

• Generate routine maintenance schedules using the maintenance planning system, including cleaning, lubrication and inspection tasks.
• Allocate resources and generate works orders; communicate schedules to production, engineering and support teams.
• Verify completion of routines and autonomous maintenance; provide feedback on efficiency and non‑compliance.
• Participate in commissioning of new maintenance systems and changes; ensure data integrity and correct system use.
• Plan maintenance work, generate schedules and work orders; produce SAP reports for stakeholders.
• Maintain data accuracy on maintenance systems and analyse data to identify failure modes and root causes.
• Facilitate planned maintenance pre-meetings and reschedule incomplete work; capture information in maintenance systems.
• Lead maintenance post mortems and discuss problems, opportunities and lessons learned.
