Job summary

Placements24 is seeking experienced Outdoor Adventure Guides to lead hiking, biking, and other excursions around Stellenbosch. You will ensure safety, share knowledge about the environment, and deliver engaging experiences in scenic settings.

The role requires leadership, environmental awareness, and a passion for guiding guests through diverse outdoor activities with a focus on customer satisfaction and responsible recreation.

Qualifications

• Wilderness First Responder or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as an outdoor guide or in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of local trails and environment.
• Excellent navigational and risk assessment skills.
• Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in varying weather conditions.
• Passion for outdoor activities and sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead guided tours and activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and nature walks.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the excursion.
• Provide engaging interpretation of local flora, fauna, geology, and history.
• Manage group dynamics and adapt the itinerary based on group abilities and conditions.
• Conduct pre-trip safety briefings and equipment checks.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and administer first aid when necessary.
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, creating a memorable experience for guests.

You will be responsible for guiding clients safely and knowledgeably through hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities, ensuring an unforgettable experience. This role requires excellent leadership, strong environmental awareness, and a passion for sharing the natural beauty of the area. You will be the face of our client's adventure tours, providing exceptional service and promoting responsible outdoor recreation in a breathtaking setting.
