About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Process Engineer to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement at their site in Stellenbosch . This role is centered on analyzing, designing, and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality standards. You will work closely with operations teams, using industrial engineering methodologies to solve complex challenges and optimize workflows. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement using data analysis and process mapping techniques.
- Design and implement new or improved processes, workflows, and system layouts to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events and Lean Six Sigma projects.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices for all operational processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of process changes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of process improvements and identify further optimization opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, process engineering, or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, VSM, Kaizen).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to train and influence operational teams.
