Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to join its Randburg manufacturing team. You will analyze processes to boost production efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs, driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial setting.

The role requires a strong technical background, lean/Six Sigma expertise, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to implement practical solutions and monitor results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in operations/process/manufacturing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Operations Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Randburg . This role is essential for optimizing production efficiency, improving product quality, and reducing operational costs. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for enhancement, and implement strategic solutions that align with the company's goals for operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization.
• Design, develop, and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and 5S implementation.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and performance metrics to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles , Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
