About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee their warehouse and distribution operations. This role is primarily remote, with occasional site visits to the warehouse facility in Bloemfontein, Free State , ensuring flexibility while maintaining operational oversight. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse activities, optimizing inventory management, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and leading the warehouse team to achieve peak performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in warehouse management, particularly within the FMCG sector, with a proven ability to implement best practices and drive operational improvements. This position requires exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping of FMCG products.
• Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and processes to maximize space utilization and operational flow.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and implement measures to minimize discrepancies and stock-outs.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
• Lead, train, and motivate the warehouse team to achieve high levels of productivity and accuracy.
• Implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) to improve efficiency and tracking.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and cost per unit.

• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, if applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations management, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Proven experience in managing warehouse teams and optimizing warehouse processes.
• Strong knowledge of WMS and inventory management best practices.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote capacity while overseeing on-site operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant operational software.
