Responsibilities

• Determine and direct daily operational plans for the plant.
• Oversee daily collections and ensure stock takes (daily, weekly, month-end).
• Ensure staff attendance and monitor daily production to meet targets.
• Maintain housekeeping and monitor plant assets to prevent loss or theft.
• Manage 3rd party contractors and ensure material quality meets sales specs.
• Set KPIs and conduct staff performance reviews.
• Identify and report health and safety issues and ensure SOPs are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree \ National Diploma or equivalent
• Management certification will be advantageous
• Valid Drivers’ Licence and own transportation

Job Requirements

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Management position in Recycling / Manufacturing or similar environment
• Proven Financial, Logistics, Production and 3rd party contractor management skills
• Extensive experience in a management role in Recycling, Waste Management, Manufacturing or similar industry.
• Working knowledge of EE, OSH, SHE, LRA and BCE Legislation
• Extensive customer engagement and sales acumen
• Project management skills

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Determine and direct daily operational plans
• Oversee daily collections
• Ensure required stock takes are conducted (daily, weekly and month-end)
• Ensure all staff are present at their workplace
• Monitor production throughout the day to ensure daily targets are met
• Monitor housekeeping daily (clean floor area, bins, machinery, staff facilities, loose bales of material.)
• 3rd Party contractor management
• Ensure that the material quality is consistently maintained and meets the required sales specifications
• Keep tight control on plant assets and report any possibility of abuse, neglect or thefts to management
• Monitor general maintenance and repairs to the plant and equipment
• Ensure the correct procedures and requirements are followed when closing down or at the end of a shift
• Set KPI’s and conduct performance reviews for staff
• Ensure the consistent monthly sales of all material
• Identify health and safety issues and report them accordingly
• Keep the site clean and tidy as per standard operating procedures
• Ensure staff follow all safety procedures (wear PPE, abide by speed limits, safety equipment and measures, evacuation procedure, fire)
