Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a recycling and manufacturing site in Bridge City, KZN. You will direct daily operations, manage stock, monitor production, and oversee third-party contractors to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and compliance with EE/OSH/SHE/LRA/BCE regulations, plus a track record in improving processes and KPI attainment. Durban-area consideration encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma or equivalent.
• Management certification will be advantageous.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and own transportation.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a management position within Recycling, Manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Proven financial, logistics, production and third-party contractor management skills.
• Extensive management experience within Recycling, Waste Management, Manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Working knowledge of EE, OSH, SHE, LRA and BCE legislation.
• Strong customer engagement and sales acumen.
• Project management skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning and time-management skills.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Determine and direct daily operational plans.
• Oversee daily collections.
• Ensure required stock takes are conducted daily, weekly and at month-end.
• Monitor production throughout the day to ensure daily targets are met.
• Manage third-party contractors.
• Ensure material quality is consistently maintained and meets required specifications.
• Maintain control over plant assets and report potential abuse, neglect or theft.
• Monitor general maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment.
• Set KPIs and conduct staff performance reviews.
• Ensure consistent monthly sales of all material.
• Identify and report health and safety issues.
• Ensure the site is maintained according to required standards.
• Ensure staff comply with all safety procedures.
