Job summary

Objective Personnel is seeking an experienced Operations/Maintenance Manager to oversee daily plant workflow, optimize production, and lead maintenance teams. The role requires managing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring safety and efficiency across packaging environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in production optimization, leadership, and decision-making, with strong computer literacy and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Matric / Senior Certificate and relevant qualification in Operations / Maintenance Management.
• Valid driver's license.
• 5+ years of operational or maintenance management experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven track record in preventative maintenance systems and production optimization.
• Strong leadership, problem solving and decision making capabilities.
• Computer literacy.
• Own transport preferred (advantageous, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant workflow, production targets, resource allocation and operational efficiency.
• Ensure daily factory opening and closing and site security.
• Manage preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance programs across all plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Lead, mentor and schedule maintenance and production staff to drive continuous improvement.
• Enforce OHSA/SHEQ health, safety and environmental standards.
• Monitor operational expenditures, control spare parts inventory and optimize maintenance costs.

• Operations Leadership: Oversee daily plant workflow, production targets, resource allocation, and operational efficiency. Responsible for daily factory opening and closing, ensuring site security.
• Maintenance Strategy: Manage preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across all plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and schedule the maintenance and production staff to drive a continuous improvement culture.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards (OHSA/SHEQ).
• Budgeting & Costs: Monitor operational expenditures, control spare parts inventory, and optimize maintenance costs.
