Job summary

Direct Hire is seeking an Operations Manager for the Pelletizing and Sintering Plant (Witbank). This role leads both production and maintenance, ensuring safe, high-quality output while controlling costs.

You will drive risk assessment, maintain SHEQ compliance, and manage annual strategy reviews to align with the business plan. Prior managerial experience and a relevant degree are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: relevant degree or national diploma.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably 2 years in a managerial role.
• Experience with production and maintenance leadership in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and maintenance teams to deliver safe, cost-effective production.
• Drive risk assessment and mitigation across the department.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and use of the Toolbox for reporting.
• Review production and maintenance strategies annually aligned with the business plan.
• Manage budgets and stakeholder relationships to maximise value.
