Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our large-scale nonprofit in Midrand, Gauteng. This on-site role focuses on optimizing facility, supply chain, HR support and compliance to ensure efficient program delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in nonprofit operations, strong leadership and budget management experience, and a hands-on management style tailored to mission-driven work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Public Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in operations management, preferably in non-profit/public sector.
• Proven track record in managing complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of non-profit operations, compliance and reporting.
• Excellent leadership, team management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in operations management software and standard office applications.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Midrand, Gauteng, ZA for on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including facility management, logistics, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement efficient operational policies and procedures.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards and legal requirements.
• Supervise administrative and support staff, providing guidance and performance management.
• Manage inventory and asset tracking.
• Support HR functions, including onboarding and staff coordination.
• Develop and manage operational budgets.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Liaise with program managers to ensure operational support for all service delivery activities.
