Workforce Staffing in South Africa seeks a seasoned O&M Asset Manager to oversee solar PV plants' operational performance, maintenance, and asset integrity.

You will lead performance analysis, manage contractors, ensure grid compliance, and guide asset lifecycle planning and cost control for renewable energy assets.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' renewable energy experience, with strong exposure to Solar PV O&M.
• Experience managing commercial or utility-scale solar PV plants.
• Strong contractor, stakeholder and technical management experience.
• Good understanding of grid-connected PV systems and plant performance analysis.
• Experience in asset management, maintenance planning and troubleshooting.
• BESS experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of solar PV assets.
• Monitor plant performance and monitoring platforms, identifying faults, trends and underperformance.
• Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Oversee and manage third-party O&M contractors, including SLAs, KPIs and performance reviews.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for plant failures and performance issues.
• Monitor key performance indicators including availability, yield, PR and degradation.
• Manage warranties, OEM claims and performance guarantees.
• Support asset lifecycle planning, spares management, upgrades and plant optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, grid, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost optimisation.
• Prepare regular operational, performance and risk reports for management.
• Support the handover and operational readiness of newly commissioned Solar PV assets.
• Provide operational input into Solar PV projects and hybrid PV-BESS solutions where applicable.
