Job summary

A leading financial services company in Pretoria is seeking a senior financial manager to drive financial planning processes, oversee daily financial operations, and ensure compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, professional membership with SAIPA or SAICA, and at least 10 years of experience in a financial management role. Strong analytical skills and team leadership capabilities are essential. Competitive compensation will be offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ proven experience in a senior Financial Management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the financial planning process through effective budgeting and forecasting.
  • Oversee daily financial activities and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and implement risk management practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process.
  • Analyze financial data to provide strategic recommendations.

Job description
In order to be considered the following is required:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in BCom Accounting, BCompt Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Professional membership with SAIPA or SAICA
  • Advanced MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook proficiency
  • Experience with Financial Management Software (e.g. Sage Evolution)
  • Working knowledge of G-Suite
  • Minimum 10 years’ proven experience in a senior Financial Management role
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law, risk management practices and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Strong background in managing annual audits and preparing management reports
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards
  • Expertise in data analysis, trend evaluation, and forecasting methods
  • Ability to design and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives
Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Drive the company’s financial planning process through effective budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategy alignment
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee daily financial activities, ensure robust internal controls and manage cash flow effectively
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, tax legislation and company policies while implementing sound risk management practices
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, coach and develop the finance team to deliver high-performance results
  • Audit & Reporting: Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process and prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports with insightful management commentary
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to executive management
