Qualifications

• Requires a BEng or BSc in Mining Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in open-pit mine planning and operations.
• Proficiency with mine planning software such as Vulcan, Deswik, or MinePlan.
• Solid understanding of open-pit mining methods, equipment, and constraints.
• Ability to perform mine economic analyses and sensitivity studies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans for open-pit operations.
• Utilize mine planning software to design pits, haul roads, and waste dumps.
• Optimize mine sequences and production schedules to meet targets for volume, grade, and cost.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining areas or modifications.
• Collaborate with operations personnel to ensure effective implementation of mine plans.
• Perform reconciliations between planned and actual mining performance.
