Job summary

Centrax Group in Johannesburg seeks a Test Analyst to plan, design and execute testing across finance and actuarial systems.

Reporting into the Head: Centre IT via the Test Manager, you will own test coverage from functional and integration testing through to System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, providing the quality assurance that underpins confident go-live decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software testing with 3+ years in finance/insurance
• Experience designing test for ERP finance implementations and system integrations
• Hands-on SQL data validation with source-to-target reconciliation
• API testing with Postman/SoapUI/REST
• Test automation with Selenium/Playwright/Cypress
• Jira/Xray/Zephyr or Azure DevOps/ALM for test management
• UAT & SIT coordination with business stakeholders
• Strong understanding of finance processes and reporting
• High attention to detail and documentation
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client, a leading financial services and insurance group, requires a Test Analyst to plan, design and execute testing across finance and actuarial systems. Reporting into the Head: Centre IT via the Test Manager, you will own test coverage from functional and integration testing through to System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, providing the quality assurance that underpins confident go-live decisions.

Key focus areas: risk-based test planning, test design with full requirements traceability, validation of financial calculations and reporting output, automation of regression suites, defect management, and UAT coordination with business users.

Requirements

• 5+ years in software testing or QA, with 3+ years testing finance systems in insurance or financial services
• Proven test design and execution for ERP finance implementations and system integrations
• Hands-on data validation using SQL, including source-to-target reconciliation
• API and message-based interface testing using Postman, SoapUI or REST Assured
• Test automation with Selenium, Playwright, Tosca, Cypress or comparable frameworks
• Test management and defect tracking in Jira (Xray/Zephyr), Azure DevOps or Micro Focus ALM
• Experience leading or supporting UAT and SIT with business stakeholders
• Strong understanding of finance processes, accounting principles and financial reporting
• High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
• Agile and Waterfall methodologies
