Job summary

PPS is seeking a QA Analyst to ensure quality and reliability of business systems. The role involves planning, designing, executing, and managing testing throughout the software testing lifecycle to meet business requirements and quality standards.

You will collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders, while mentoring junior testers and promoting testing best practices across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field required
• ISTQB Foundation Certificate is essential
• Postgraduate qualification preferred for advanced insights

Responsibilities

• Analyse business, functional, and technical documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and testability of requirements.
• Identify system functionality requiring testing and extract detailed test requirements to support quality assurance objectives.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern and ensure appropriate test coverage.
• Define and prepare test data requirements to support effective testing activities.
• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and integration test scripts aligned to business requirements.
• Verify test environment readiness and ensure prerequisites are in place prior to test execution.
• Plan, sequence, and schedule testing activities to support project timelines and delivery objectives.
• Execute test cases and validate system functionality, performance, and integration points.
• Identify, document, track, and manage defects through to resolution, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
• Review and update test artefacts to reflect system changes, lessons learned.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior testers to build testing capability within the team

, To ensure the quality, reliability, and successful implementation of business systems and technology solutions by planning, designing, executing, and managing testing activities throughout the software testing lifecycle. The role is responsible for analysing business and system requirements, identifying test scenarios and risks, developing and executing test cases, managing defects, and validating system functionality to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. The role collaborates closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders, while supporting continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and the promotion of testing best practices.

Education

• Bachelors Degree in IT or related


• Postgraduate qualification in IT or related (preferred)


• ISTQB Foundation Certificate (essential)

Experience

• 2 - 3 years’ experience in the Life Insurance industry (essential)


• 2 - 3 years’ experience in broad testing methodologies (essential)


• 2 - 3 years’ experience in testing specification creation experience (essential)

Knowledge And Skills

• Working knowledge of a Test management tool, e.g. Selenium, Gitlab.


• Business analysis principles


• Testing methodology principles


• Testing effort estimation and risk identification skills


• Is adept in the use of the latest MS Office package, particularly Excel, Word and Power-point


• Strong presentation skills


• Knowledge of SQL


• Full understanding of the Test Life Cycle
