Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Drilling Engineer to manage onshore drilling operations from Tembisa, ensuring safe, efficient campaigns from planning through execution. You will design well plans, select equipment, and oversee all aspects of the drilling process to meet production targets.

The candidate should have robust expertise in drilling mechanics, fluid dynamics, and well control, with a track record of leading teams and improving performance in oil & gas operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or closely related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years as a Drilling Engineer in onshore operations.
• Experience in well planning, directional drilling, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and well designs including casing, mud, and directional plans.
• Oversee rig operations and drilling crews with safety and policy adherence.
• Monitor progress, analyze real-time data, and optimize performance while mitigating risks.
• Procure drilling equipment, services, and materials with cost control in mind.
• Conduct post-drill analyses to improve future operations.
• Coordinate with geology and reservoir teams to align with field development objectives.
