Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Drilling Operations Manager to oversee all drilling activities in the Tembisa region. This leadership role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, overseeing crews, rigs, and logistics while complying with HSE standards.

You will drive plans, supervise toolpushers, drillers, and service staff, manage contracts and budgets, and implement strategies to boost productivity and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in oil and gas drilling supervisory or management roles.
• Proven track record of managing complex drilling projects safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of drilling technologies, equipment and best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of HSE regulations and their application in drilling operations.
• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling plans and programs.
• Manage and supervise drilling crews, including toolpushers, drillers, and service personnel.
• Oversee selection, maintenance, and operation of drilling rigs and equipment.
• Monitor drilling progress, analyze data, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Manage drilling-related contracts, procure materials and services, and control budgets.
