About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Drilling Engineer to join their operational team in Tembisa . This role is critical for planning, executing, and supervising drilling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective well construction. You will be responsible for developing drilling programs, managing rig operations, and troubleshooting any challenges that arise in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drilling technology, risk assessment, and project management within the challenging environment of the Oil & Gas industry , contributing directly to the successful development of our client's reserves.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs, including casing, cementing, and well control strategies.
• Supervise and coordinate rig site operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform daily monitoring of drilling parameters and provide real-time technical support to rig crews.
• Identify and mitigate potential drilling hazards and operational risks.
• Manage relationships with service providers and ensure the quality of supplied equipment and services.
• Analyze drilling performance data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering , preferably with offshore or complex onshore experience.
• Proficiency in drilling software and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of well control principles, equipment, and procedures.
• Experience with budget management and cost control for drilling campaigns.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage rig teams and stakeholders.
