Placements24 in Kimberley seeks a Field Installation & Commissioning Technician to install, configure and test complex systems at client sites. This hands‑on role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow technical documentation to ensure reliable operation from day one.

You will travel to various client locations, interpret manuals and wiring diagrams, troubleshoot issues, and provide basic client training.

Qualifications

Experience in a field installation or commissioning role.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or IT systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be prepared for travel.

Responsibilities

Perform physical installations of equipment and systems following technical documentation and project requirements.
Conduct commissioning and testing procedures to verify system functionality, performance and safety.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation or initial setup.
Provide basic training and user support to clients on new systems.
Maintain accurate logs and reports of installation and commissioning activities, including challenges and resolutions.
Ensure work areas are tidy and safe, complying with site safety regulations.
