Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Loss Prevention Specialist to join our Pretoria-based team. The role emphasizes on-site risk assessments, safety program implementation, and investigations to minimize financial exposure in the insurance sector.

You will work with underwriting, claims and operations to uphold safety protocols and regulatory compliance while contributing to operational efficiency and client protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in loss prevention, risk management, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and investigative skills.
• Effective communication and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of company operations and client sites to identify potential hazards.
• Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies and safety programs.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Educate employees and clients on safety procedures, regulatory compliance and risk management best practices.
• Monitor and analyze loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, claims and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.
