Placements24 in Nelspruit (Mpumalanga) is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join on-site operations. You will analyze processes, design improvements, and lead lean initiatives to boost throughput, cut waste, and improve quality in our manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate has a relevant engineering degree, at least 4 years in manufacturing, strong knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, CAD for layouts, and stats tools like Minitab or JMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) and Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency with CAD software for layout design and process visualization
• Experience with statistical analysis software (Minitab, JMP)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus

Responsabilités

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction
• Design and implement new manufacturing processes and workflows using lean and Six Sigma principles
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes
• Utilize statistical tools to monitor process performance and identify root causes of defects
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement process changes
• Design factory layouts and optimize material flow for space efficiency and safety
• Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives
• Train production staff on new processes and best practices
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities
