Qualifications

• BSW or MSW degree from an accredited institution.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• 3–5 years of post-qualifying experience in clinical social work, child welfare, or family services.
• Experience in psychosocial assessments, case management, and crisis intervention.
• Strong knowledge of child protection laws, family dynamics, and welfare policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with case management databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Benoni area and surrounding regions for client services.
• Commitment to ethical practice and client advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of individuals and families to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized case plans and intervention strategies.
• Provide direct counseling and therapeutic services to children, adults, and families.
• Facilitate referrals to community resources, including mental health services, housing assistance, and educational programs.
• Advocate for clients' rights and needs within various systems (e.g., legal, educational, healthcare).
• Conduct home visits and engage with families in their natural environments.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with professional standards and agency policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other social workers, therapists, educators, and legal professionals.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and intervention as needed.
