Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Test and Validation Engineer for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will design test plans, execute tests, analyze results, and report findings to guide product development.

You will operate dynamometers and data acquisition systems, ensure SAE/ISO compliance, and collaborate with engineers to implement improvements. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years in automotive testing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in test and validation in automotive.
• Knowledge of SAE/ISO standards and reporting requirements.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive test plans for automotive components and systems.
• Conduct performance, durability, environmental, and functional testing.
• Operate and maintain test equipment, including dynamometers and data acquisition systems.
• Analyze test data to identify deviations or failures and report findings.
• Document test results and prepare detailed technical reports for engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot issues during testing and collaborate with engineers to implement fixes.
• Ensure testing activities comply with SAE/ISO standards and customer specifications.
• Validate prototype components and production parts against design requirements.
