Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, seeks an Automotive Test & Validation Engineer to ensure performance, reliability and safety of automotive components through rigorous testing. You will develop test plans, run tests and report findings to guide product development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive testing, hands-on test equipment experience, and a meticulous validation mindset, with a willingness to work in a hybrid on-site and remote setup in Sandton.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of automotive testing and validation experience.
Hands-on with test equipment, data acquisition and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive systems.
Set up environmental chambers, vibration tables and DAQ systems.
Conduct performance, durability and environmental tests on components and vehicles.
Analyze test data, identify issues and propose improvements.
Prepare detailed test reports documenting methodologies and results.
Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot testing issues.
Ensure compliance with ISO/SAE standards and safety regulations.
Maintain calibration records and test equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods.
