Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of its client, is seeking an Automotive Test and Validation Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This hybrid role focuses on comprehensive testing and validation of automotive components and systems to meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

You will design test plans, execute lab and field tests, analyze results, and contribute to product development cycles, while maintaining clear records and collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of automotive testing/validation experience.
• Experience writing test procedures and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for automotive components, systems, and vehicles.
• Conduct durability, performance, environmental, and functional testing.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and instrumentation with calibration checks.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and generate detailed reports.
• Identify defects and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure testing activities comply with ISO, SAE, and company procedures.
• Assist in validating new vehicle models and features.
