Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Test Engineer (Vehicle Dynamics) to join a leading R&D firm in Upington, Northern Cape. You will plan and execute tests to evaluate handling, stability, ride comfort, and dynamic performance.

You will operate data acquisition systems, analyze results with MATLAB/Simulink and DIAdem, develop dynamic models, and provide actionable feedback to designers. A minimum 6 years in vehicle dynamics testing and a strong analytical mindset are essential; a

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering; Master's preferred.
Minimum 6 years in automotive vehicle dynamics testing.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience with data acquisition systems and sensors.
Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, DIAdem, and driving simulation tools.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for vehicle dynamics, focusing on handling, ride, steering, braking, and stability.
Operate and maintain advanced data acquisition systems, sensors (e.g., accelerometers, GPS, steering robots), and testing equipment.
Conduct real-world vehicle testing in various environmental conditions and on diverse test tracks.
Analyze test data using specialized software to evaluate performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and refine mathematical models of vehicle dynamics for simulation and correlation with test results.
Collaborate with design and development engineers to provide actionable feedback for vehicle optimization.
Prepare detailed test reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
