Placements24 is seeking an experienced Offshore Wind Turbine Technician for a fully remote role supporting offshore projects. You will guide on-site teams via remote consultation, develop maintenance protocols, and troubleshoot remotely to keep turbines running at peak performance.

You will collaborate with field and engineering teams, analyze SCADA data, and continually improve maintenance strategies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance from a distance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as Wind Turbine Technician, offshore experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wind turbine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools, meters and SCADA systems for remote analysis.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for installation, commissioning and maintenance of offshore wind turbines.
• Develop and optimize preventative and corrective maintenance strategies and schedules.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues via remote diagnostics.
• Analyze turbine performance data (SCADA) to identify potential failures and optimize production.
• Review and approve maintenance reports and repair recommendations from field teams.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations for offshore wind operations, even remotely.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve challenges and implement improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of remote support activities and turbine performance.

While the role is remote, it demands extensive technical knowledge and the ability to guide on-site teams effectively through remote consultation and planning. You will be instrumental in developing and refining maintenance protocols, troubleshooting complex technical issues remotely, and ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of offshore wind turbines. This position requires a deep understanding of wind turbine systems, electrical and mechanical diagnostics, and a proactive approach to problem-solving from a distance. You will collaborate closely with field teams, project managers, and engineering departments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Trade qualification or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, with a strong emphasis on offshore environments.
• In-depth knowledge of wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and SCADA systems for remote analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems effectively from a distance.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote team collaboration.
• Strong understanding of offshore safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with various wind turbine models and manufacturers is advantageous.
