Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks a Structural Engineer for offshore structures to design, analyze and ensure integrity of platforms, jackets and subsea systems. Collaboration with naval architects and fabricators is essential.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Structural degree with 6+ years in offshore projects and is proficient in ANSYS/STAAD.Pro, familiar with API, DNV, and ISO standards, including fatigue analysis and load cases.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng).
6+ years of offshore structural engineering experience.
Proficiency with ANSYS, STAAD.Pro; knowledge of API, DNV, ISO codes.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze offshore platforms, jackets, templates, and subsea structures.
Use FEA software for detailed modeling and simulations.
Ensure designs comply with API, DNV, ISO codes and standards.
Conduct structural integrity assessments and recommend maintenance/repair strategies.
Review structural drawings and fabrication documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycle.
Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases.
Participate in design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP studies.
Stay updated on offshore structural engineering technologies.
