Job summary

The Department of Health is seeking an Operational Manager Nursing (Medical Ward) to oversee nursing services in the unit. You will supervise quality patient care, implement protocols, manage staffing and budgets, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to meet departmental goals.

Applicants must hold a Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Science, be registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse, and have a postgraduate diploma in Health Service Management or Nursing Administration.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in General Nursing Science and SANC registration.
• SANC receipt as General Nurse and Midwife.
• Minimum 7 years nursing experience after registration.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Health Service Management or Nursing Administration.
• Strong communication, leadership and conflict management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure quality patient care in the unit.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols and policies.
• Ensure adequate staffing and manage absenteeism.
• Manage nursing duties and supervise staff.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and resources.
• Ensure adherence to National Core Standards.
