Job summary

Gauteng Provincial Government’s Department of Health is seeking an Operational Manager Nursing: Grade 1/2 for Night Duty in the General Unit. The role requires strong leadership, extensive nursing experience in a public hospital, and ongoing professional development.

Night shifts apply and the incumbent will oversee patient care, nursing plans, and resource management. Experience with health acts and a valid driver’s license are essential, as is registration with the South African Nursing

Qualifications

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
• Diploma/degree in Nursing; Health Management qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years post-registration nursing experience in public hospitals.
• Valid driver''s license and computer literacy.
• SANC annual practicing certificate and proof of registration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care.
• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the nursing care plan and the evaluation thereof.
• Provide relevant health information to health care users to assist in achieving optimal health care and rehabilitation of patients.
• Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders; inter-professional, inter-sectoral, and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
• Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures.
• Manage and monitor proper utilization of human, financial and physical resources; maintain ethical standards and development of self and subordinates.
