Job summary

EdUpStairs in the Western Cape seeks an Enrolled Nursing Assistant (Grade 1–3) registered with SANC. The role covers basic nursing care, assisting patients with daily living activities, and supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registration with SANC as Nursing Assistant.
• Grade 2 requires a minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience after registration with SANC.
• Grade 3 requires a minimum of 20 years’ nursing experience after registration with SANC.
• Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, night duty and weekends.
• Willingness to assist in all departments according to operational needs.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with SANC as Nursing Assistant.
• Experience: Grade 1: None.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate / recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate / recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, night duty and weekends.
• Must be prepared to assist in all departments according to operational needs.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Office and Outlook).
• Basic Nursing Care principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape.
• Skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, function within the multi-disciplinary team and facilitate on the level of the post.
