Job summary

SmartStart South Africa is seeking a self-motivated Club Coach for the North West region to mentor our network of early learning practitioners (SmartStarters). You will recruit new SmartStarters, license and quality assure them, and help build and sustain SmartStart clubs across the district.

The role involves coaching and developing SmartStarters to improve skills, with travel to sites. This is a full-time position requiring a driver’s license and willingness to travel, including occasional

Qualifications

• Educated to tertiary level, preferably in Community Development.
• At least 1 year of coaching/mentoring/facilitation or management/coordinating experience.
• Three years of experience in ECD or closely related sphere.
• Valid driver's license and own car.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Educated to tertiary level preferably (Community Development degree advantageous).
• At least a year' experience in coaching/mentoring/ facilitation role and/or a management/coordinating role.
• Three years' experience of ECD or a closely related sphere.
• A valid driver's license and own car.

Abilities, Skills, and Attributes

• Excellent organizational and planning skills - including demonstrable experience of operationalizing appropriate systems and procedures, and of records management.
• Excellent management skills - including the ability to fulfill reporting, budgeting, and other requirements, and to ensure compliance with internal policies and standards.
• Good English written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - and in internet search and use.
• Fluency in the dominant language of the area in which a coach is needed, which is Setswana.

Location, Hours, and Travel

• This is a full-time post and is based on the above-mentioned areas. The Club Coach is required to travel around the district to various SmartStart sites.
• The working hours is 08:00 - 16:30 however there could be work outside these hours depending on the operational needs.
• Coach is expected to regularly travel to Johannesburg for SmartStart meetings and events.
