Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a Security NOC Manager to oversee all security technology systems and manage risk situations detected by workstation operators. The role requires managerial experience, strong communication, and a solid understanding of control room procedures.

Proficiency with MS Office, Lync, Google Earth and Windows applications is essential, with knowledge of Signal Tower/Axon advantageous.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification required.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a multi-functional control room environment.
• Managerial or similar experience essential.
• Knowledge of Signal Tower and Axon advantageous.
• MS Office and Lync, Google Earth and Windows-based applications.
• Strong communication, tact, diplomacy, assertiveness and relationship building.
• Integrity, energy, initiative and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee all security technology systems in the NOC, receive responses as prescribed.
• Accept and manage all risk situations detected and reported by workstation operators.
• Ensure client instructions are prioritized and completed by due dates.
• Ensure all NOC staff adhere to policies and procedures.
• Conduct on-site training with NOC staff on new procedures and systems.
• Research new methods to improve control room procedures.
• Assist client in opening criminal cases when incidents occur.
• Ensure handover is documented at each shift change.
• Prevent unauthorized entry into the NOC.
• Capture all incident details to maintain a clear audit trail of events and actions.
• Delegate resources during emergencies as required by the duty manager.
• Maintain full shift staffing levels.
• Oversee incidents, exceptions and crisis management.
• Monitor operator performance and CCTV/alarm system outputs.
• Escalate positive alarms and record all responses on the software platforms.
• Data capture and daily CCTV/alarm reports.
• Communicate via two-way radio and telephone.
• Conduct health checks for technical systems.
• Ensure all reports are written to a high standard in English.
