Job summary

Zohorecruit in KwaZulu-Natal seeks an experienced Network & Service Operations Engineer to lead enterprise network and security operations. You’ll keep critical infrastructure secure, resilient and available while guiding high‑priority incidents and coordinating across technology vendors.

Responsibilities include supporting WAN/SD‑WAN, managing firewalls, VPNs and NAC, monitoring security events and logs, and driving security hardening, change plans and incident reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Network Security Engineering, ideally within large enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAC, security monitoring and logging, and enterprise routing & switching.
• Experience supporting or leading P1/critical incidents and working with multiple vendors.

Responsibilities

• Support and optimise enterprise WAN and SD-WAN environments.
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, secure remote access and NAC technologies.
• Monitor network security events, logs and suspicious traffic.
• Support cloud connectivity and hybrid network environments.
• Conduct firewall ruleset, network segmentation, VPN and security-hardening reviews.
• Identify security vulnerabilities, risks and control gaps and recommend improvements.
• Implement firewall policies, security changes and network segmentation.
• Coordinate SD-WAN security deployments and network/security changes.
• Lead and coordinate P1 and critical incidents, driving rapid service restoration.
• Provide clear, structured updates to technical teams, business stakeholders and executives.
• Support root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Coordinate multiple technology vendors and managed service providers.
• Monitor vendor performance and escallate technical or service issues when required.
• Develop Low-Level Designs (LLDs), implementation plans, risk registers and technical documentation.
• Support network standards, governance, service assurance and operational reporting.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in Network Security Engineering, ideally within large enterprise environments.
