About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Telecom Network Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team, based on-site in Queenstown . This role is fundamental in safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of the company's telecommunications infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring network traffic, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and implementing robust security measures. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of network security principles and is committed to protecting critical assets in a hands-on, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network systems and traffic for security breaches, intrusions, and policy violations using SIEM tools and other security platforms.
• Analyze security alerts and events, conduct forensic investigations, and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
• Implement and manage network security controls, including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDPS ), and VPNs.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to telecommunications networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network security analysis , preferably within the telecommunications sector.
• Proficiency with security monitoring tools, network protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST).
• Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, VPN technologies , and endpoint security solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident response capabilities.
