Job summary

BETSoftware is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and support the organization’s network infrastructure, with a focus on VMware, Juniper, and Microsoft technologies. The role involves monitoring, wireless infrastructure administration, and deploying at remote sites as needed.

You will provide 1st line support, handle LAN cabling knowledge, and log incidents with detail while collaborating with Senior Network Engineers to ensure security and uptime across systems.

Qualifications

• Relevant Diploma/Degree in Information Technology.
• 2-3 years’ experience with Juniper or equivalent routing and switching technologies.
• 2-3 years’ experience with Load Balancing or related technologies, Internationally recognized Microsoft Qualification.
• Good understanding of network monitoring, reporting, and alerting.
• Good understanding of network routing and redundancy.
• Practical experience in troubleshooting networks.
• Practical experience in the application of ICT technologies to solve network problems.
• Strong administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and Support network infrastructure for the organization, with a focus on VMware, Juniper, and Microsoft technologies.
• Perform necessary checks, apply monitoring tools and responding to alerts.
• Administration and implementation of all wireless infrastructure to support the organization.
• Installation of new remote sites and travelling to remote sites to complete repairs as required.
• Provide 1st line support team members.
• Knowledge of network cabling systems and functionality and proven experience with LAN support.
• Identify problems and errors prior to or when it occurs and log all such incidents in a timely manner with the required level of detail.
• Assist in analyzing, assigning and escalating support calls.
• Investigate support calls assigned and identify the root cause of incidents and problems.
• Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
• Work closely with the Senior Network Engineers to make sure all systems are secure and operational.
