Qualifications

  • Seasoned network engineering experience in a networking environment.
  • Experience with network security, WAN/LAN, and wireless LAN design.
  • Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure).

Responsibilities

  • Designs and plans network solutions including LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud networks.
  • Develops architectures that meet current and future requirements.
  • Configures, deploys, and manages routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
  • Implements and maintains network services and security measures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
  • Monitors traffic for threats and resolves complex network issues with advanced tools.
  • Analyses performance data, optimises QoS, and adjusts configurations as needed.
  • Creates comprehensive network documentation including diagrams and SOPs.
  • Collaborates with systems admins, security teams, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Manages network-related projects such as upgrades, migrations, expansions.

  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), or equivalent certifications are preferred
  • Required Experience: Seasoned relevant experience in network engineering or a related role Seasoned experience working in a networking environment
  • Seasoned experience with network security Seasoned WAN and LAN experience
  • Seasoned experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design
  • Seasoned experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Monitors network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilities Diagnoses and resolves complex network issues, utilising advanced troubleshooting techniques and network monitoring tools
  • Analyses network performance data to identify and address bottlenecks and irregularities Optimises network performance by analysing traffic patterns, adjusting configurations, and implementing quality of service (QoS) measures
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident reports
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholders
  • Communicates technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manages/participates in network-related projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and expansions
