Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Engineer to join a Queenstown-based team delivering municipal roads, water, and wastewater projects in the Eastern Cape. The role focuses on designing compliant, sustainable infrastructure, performing feasibility studies, preparing tender documents, and collaborating with government agencies and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in municipal or public infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, water/wastewater modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of South African municipal standards and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for municipal infrastructure projects, such as roads, water mains, and sewer lines.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed engineering designs and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local engineering standards and regulations.
• Prepare cost estimates and tender documents for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and government agencies.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase of infrastructure projects.
