Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Site Engineer for a civil construction role in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will oversee on-site engineering activities, ensure work aligns with designs, and maintain quality and safety standards.

The role involves coordinating with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors, with a focus on delivering major infrastructure projects and upholding engineering excellence throughout the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with ECSA.
• Minimum of 3 years’ civil construction site engineering experience.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and construction plans.
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily on-site engineering operations and construction activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and plans for accurate execution.
• Perform quality control checks to meet required standards.
• Manage site resources including labour, materials, and equipment.
• Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations on site.
