Placements24 is seeking a passionate Montessori Certified Teacher for a part-time role in Tembisa, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will lead a classroom, create a prepared environment, and foster independence and curiosity in young learners.

The role emphasizes Montessori pedagogy, observation, and strong communication with parents, with CPR/First Aid certification and a background check required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and experience with Montessori materials is essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited Montessori certification for the relevant age group (AMI/AMS).
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a Montessori setting.
• Strong understanding and application of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a child-centered Montessori environment.
• Guide children through individualized learning experiences using Montessori materials.
• Observe and document each child's progress and communicate with parents.
• Conduct grace and courtesy lessons to foster social skills.
• Manage classroom behavior with dignity and positive approaches.
• Lead parent–teacher conferences to discuss development and progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the school's mission and vision.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all children at all times.
• Lead group activities and circle times appropriate for the age group.
• Maintain supply of materials and ensure they are in good working order.
